Dietitian Unit Primary Care Paramedicine Sörmland

About Us

In Sörmland, all dietitians are organized in a dietitian organization that belongs to the county clinic Paramedicine Sörmland. Currently, there are approximately 45 dietitian colleagues in Sörmland. The primary care unit and the specialist care unit have a close collaboration, which allows for opportunities to change one's role over time if desired.

The primary care dietitians' mission is to take care of patients of various ages referred to us by the county's 31 health centers. The outpatient work takes place at health centers, and you work closely with other professionals at the health center, which promotes collaboration around the patients. Depending on the size of the health center, you may have a full-time role at a large health center or a shared role at two smaller health centers. In Sörmland, we have a well-developed network of dietitian colleagues who meet regularly, have a great community, and are never further away than a Teams link or phone call.

We are now looking for a person to join the primary care team in northern Sörmland, placed at health center(s) in Eskilstuna and/or Strängnäs, who can support and help us when colleagues are on parental leave. If you are new in your professional role as a dietitian, there is an opportunity for introduction and guidance from experienced dietitian colleagues in the team.

We can offer you:

  • Wonderful colleagues
  • Opportunities for professional development through courses and university courses
  • Opportunity to dedicate part of your working hours to development work
  • Flexible working hours and the ability to manage your work schedule
  • Variety with the possibility of working from home some days a week
  • Wellness allowance of 5000 SEK (2026) and benefits in the benefits portal Benify.

Your Responsibilities

Our work is based on evidence-based guidelines and ethical codes. We work according to the nutrition treatment process, which involves assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of nutrition-related problems and documentation according to NCP. The work also includes assessing the need for and prescribing dietary supplements.

The work is varied, and you will meet patients of different ages. Patient contacts can occur individually in the clinic, in the form of remote visits, or as group education for patients with diagnoses such as IBS and diabetes. The dietitian may be part of a team with other professionals at the health center for lifestyle-related diagnoses. Training for the health center's staff and collaboration with child health care is included in the assignment, as well as cooperation with personnel in municipal home care regarding patients with nutrition problems.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed dietitian, preferably with experience in primary care work. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement in both spoken and written form. You should have an interest in working with the whole patient together with other professional categories, where you provide the nutrition knowledge. You are structured and self-driven and have good collaboration skills. Digital technology for communication is frequently used, for example, during video visits, which means that you need to have an interest in this and a willingness to learn new things if you are inexperienced. Since there may be travel involved in the position, a B driver's license is desirable. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and flexibility.
