School Nurse Wanted at Skiftingehus

Do you want to work as a school nurse at a school where you can work with the entire age range – from younger children to teenagers? Here at Skiftingehus, you have the opportunity. We are an F-9 school with 580 wonderful students located about 3 km from the city center. We have good bus connections and ample parking options near the school. Our school has been completely renovated over three years, meaning that all facilities are beautifully renovated according to each profession's requirements. The school nurse's room is well adapted to the profession and is located close to both the counselor and the school psychologist.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school nurse, you bring medical expertise to support the educational work and student health efforts. You work proactively and preventively with health-related issues and offer our students health visits and vaccinations according to an annual schedule. You build relationships with both students and guardians. You are part of our student health team, which also includes a counselor, school psychologist, study and career counselor, and special education teacher. Our student health services are well-functioning and have done a great job increasing safety and attendance at school.

As a newcomer, you will receive an introduction and onboarding from a school nurse colleague. In this role, you have support from the school doctor and the Medical Student Health Services. You will have the opportunity for knowledge exchange and contact with other school nurses through the network group you belong to. You will also participate in joint professional development organized by the Medical Student Health Services, and there is an opportunity for group supervision with school nurse colleagues at other schools.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a nurse with further education as a school nurse/school health care, district nurse, or health care for children/youth. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children/youth, preferably in the role of a school nurse.

You understand our students' differences and have the ability to meet them based on their situations and personalities. You can independently take responsibility for your planning and areas of responsibility. We also value that you have good collaboration skills with the various functions of the organization to offer students the best possible support. You actively participate in various collaborations, and we would like you to take the initiative for preventive measures.
