About Us

At the Medical Department, we care for patients with internal medical diseases, primarily gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, patients with newly diagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes, and elderly patients with multiple health issues who require a longer hospital stay before discharge. We also have 2 rheumatology beds.

As a nurse in the department, you will be offered a varied, developing, and educational job. The department has 20 beds divided into three care teams. Patient responsibility is approximately 7 patients per nurse, and you will have 1-2 nursing assistants to support you. The department also has four care leaders who act as mentors for less experienced nurses and work on quality development. The care leaders are also involved in daily work and provide support when there is extra workload. We see this as very valuable.

We work with a care wheel and plan training sessions, lectures, and group discussions on various topics each month. The work is led by care leaders and a quality responsible nursing assistant. Every Monday, we have something we call a competence café, where we invite speakers and hold short internal training sessions. Everything is planned according to the employees' wishes.

We have a discharge coordinator available during weekdays who contacts the municipality, works with Link, and is very helpful to nurses before discharges. We also have a coordinator available during weekdays who sits in our reception, takes incoming calls, books return trips, and arranges transport for examinations.

For us, a good work environment is very important, and we constantly work on good communication, collaboration, and encourage individual development based on personal interests.

Your Responsibilities

Your work will include care, medication management, documentation, and assessment of acutely ill patients. You will identify and meet the individual needs of patients by leading and prioritizing the work within the team.

We offer you an orientation tailored to your competence and previous experience. The introduction for new nurses is usually 6 weeks but can be extended if necessary. We provide continuous professional development through lectures with doctors, job shadowing in other units within the clinic. We, as managers, have a present and attentive leadership style where we also show ourselves in the care environment and are happy to help when it gets busy.

Your Competence

You must be a licensed nurse. As a newly graduated nurse, we are a great department to start in, as you will receive a solid foundation for your future career. We are looking for someone who is responsible and care-oriented. You should have good collaboration skills, be flexible and engaged, and focus on the patient. We appreciate curiosity about your profession and a passion for development.
