Do you want to be part of creating popular education that makes a real difference? Studiefrämjandet Väst is now looking for a popular education developer who wants to contribute to a more sustainable and democratic society by developing activities within the profile area of nature, focusing on hunting, fishing, and civil preparedness. You will work closely with associations, member organizations, and other actors in civil society.
The role of the popular education developerAs a popular education developer, you are a central part of our operations. You translate the ideas of popular education into practice and create meaningful learning processes together with participants, leaders, and associations. The role involves both strategic and operational work – from initiating collaborations and planning activities to following up on results and contributing to development at local, regional, and sometimes national levels.
You work in a dynamic environment where you have great freedom to influence and shape the content of the activities, always with the participants' needs and the challenges of society in focus.
Responsibilities and areas of responsibilityAs a popular education developer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing Studiefrämjandet's local popular education activities within hunting, fishing, and preparedness. The work is carried out in close collaboration with member organizations, associations, leaders, and participants, based on our operational idea, strategy, and our profile areas.
You drive activities from idea to follow-up, including course development, administration, budget planning, and financial follow-up. You ensure that the activities meet applicable guidelines, quality requirements, and administrative conditions, and stay updated on changing operational conditions that affect the work.
An important part of the role is to work proactively and make popular education accessible to prioritized target groups. You initiate and develop collaborations with actors in civil society, other study associations, and relevant societal actors, and represent Studiefrämjandet in external contexts – both locally and regionally.
You facilitate meetings, lead workshops and training sessions, and support leaders and participants in their learning. Through environmental monitoring, experience exchange, and dissemination of good examples, you contribute to the development of operations within both the department and the organization as a whole.
You will be an important ambassador for Studiefrämjandet and contribute to our funding by highlighting the effects of the activities for funders and other stakeholders.
Your profileWe are looking for someone who is engaged, self-driven, and has a genuine interest in popular education and our profile area of nature. You easily build trust, establish relationships, and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.
We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education and at least three years of relevant work experience. You have worked in activities related to preparedness, fishing, and hunting and have good pedagogical skills. You are used to leading groups, conducting training, and facilitating meetings – both physically and digitally. You thrive in a role where you can inspire and engage others.
You have experience working in project form and are comfortable driving processes from idea to implementation. Your communication skills in Swedish are very good, both orally and in writing, and if you also speak other languages, we see that as an asset. You have basic knowledge of economics and administration as well as very good computer skills, especially within Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Experience in popular education, work within the non-profit sector, or association life is an advantage. If you also have an established local network within nature focusing on hunting, fishing, and preparedness, that is an extra plus.
About the positionThe position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date by agreement. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. The working hours are goal-oriented and adapted to the needs of the activities, which means that work in the evenings and weekends may occur. The employment is covered by the collective agreement for civil society employees.
The place of employment is at one of our offices in Trollhättan, Lidköping, or Skövde, but you can work throughout Västra Götaland County.
