About Borås District Court

Borås District Court is located in newly built premises in central Borås. The court has about fifty employees; judges, notaries, preparation lawyers, court administrators, administrators, and security guards. The court handles criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcies. The jurisdiction includes the municipalities of Bollebygd, Borås, Mark, Svenljunga, Tranemo, and Ulricehamn. Job Responsibilities

As a preparation lawyer, you will be offered a responsible and varied job in a stimulating environment with good opportunities for professional development. You will have good opportunities to work remotely.

Your role as a preparation lawyer is fundamentally different from that of a notary. It is a role for you who want to combine legal analysis with leadership and coordination in an important part of the legal chain.

In the role of preparation lawyer, you will engage in qualified legal work where you independently prepare cases, conduct legal investigations, write proposals for decisions, decide cases based on the documents, and lead your own meetings and main hearings. You may also be involved in handling large high-profile cases and have the opportunity to conduct legal investigations, write draft judgments, and take an active role in the court's media work.

You will work together with and support the court's judges, notaries, and court administrators and contribute to developing routines and working methods. As a preparation lawyer, you ensure quality and continuity in the preparation routines at the court. You act as a sounding board for the notaries and administrators in the ongoing preparation work and participate with your expertise in one of the many working groups at the court, for example, the working group for criminal cases, family cases, or dispositive civil cases.

Qualifications

Applicants should have very good legal skills. Upon taking up the position as a preparation lawyer, you must have completed and approved notary service at the district court.

As a person, you are service-oriented, self-driven, meticulous, and structured. You have an easy time understanding legal issues and can handle large amounts of information. A good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish is a prerequisite. You also have a very good ability to collaborate and communicate both in writing and verbally with the public, colleagues, and external parties. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

This means that you uphold democratic values and the state values that govern the operations of the Swedish Courts. We also require that you comply with applicable laws.
