Your Role

We are now looking for a hardware-near software developer for our section Computer Platforms for Simulators, responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of the computer platforms for Gripen's development simulators at Saab Aeronautics in Linköping.

Right now, a lot of exciting things are happening with us, including the development of a completely new and comprehensive Gripen simulator. In today’s global situation, the role also offers a chance to contribute concretely to Saab's continued development and to the security of our region.

In this role, you will work with the most fundamental building blocks of the simulators, the technical foundation upon which all other simulator development - and ultimately also the real aircraft development - rests. This gives you unique opportunities to gain insight into the entire chain from the base platform to the flight system.

For this role, we are looking for a software developer who can contribute to new development, further development, and maintenance of both drivers and function libraries as well as other hardware-near software.

You will work in the following areas:

• Development of drivers for Unix systems with performance requirements
• Development of OS-independent library functions that support simulator developers
• Testing and evaluation of new hardware regarding compatibility and performance
• Further development of routines for communication with various technologies and protocols

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a solid interest in computers and hardware components and who is comfortable with hardware-near software development. You enjoy communicating with others and working in teams to find solutions, but you also have the ability to work independently and deliver on time. You have insights into your own strengths and areas for improvement, are humble, and have a great curiosity to learn new things.

To succeed with us, we believe you have:

• A university degree relevant to the position
• Several years of experience in hardware-near software development
• Extensive knowledge of Linux
• The ability to handle technical and formal language in both Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in programming in:

• C
• C++
