Kustbevakningen is a civil government preparedness authority responsible for maritime surveillance and rescue services at sea on behalf of the government and parliament. With our maritime capability, Kustbevakningen is also an important authority in Sweden's total defense. A key part of the maritime surveillance mission is to ensure safety in Sweden's maritime zones. This is done, among other things, through crime fighting, monitoring, and maintaining order. Kustbevakningen's rescue mission includes a wide range of different rescue operations, including environmental rescue operations in the event of accidents or spills and rescue operations in the event of shipwrecks or emergencies.

Description

The Intelligence Section supports Kustbevakningen with operational, strategic, and thematic materials. The Intelligence Section collaborates with several authorities. The operations are conducted within the maritime surveillance mission.

Kustbevakningen is looking for an intelligence officer responsible for the desk, located in Stockholm. Together with your colleagues in the desk function, you will evaluate, process, and register incoming intelligence and share this with recipients within and outside the authority. The desk function is the hub of the flow of information within Kustbevakningen's intelligence operations.

Responsibilities

• Process and evaluate incoming or gathered information
• Register information
• Assess and share intelligence with other authorities' desk functions
• Ensure that information is conveyed to the right recipients in a timely manner
• Conduct assessments based on needs and relevance as well as legal judgments based on legislation
• Development work related to intelligence operations

Business trips are included in the employment, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

You have a relevant background and experience in intelligence operations. Furthermore, you have post-secondary education in a field relevant to the tasks, or you have acquired knowledge and experience through your work life that the employer assesses as equivalent. Additionally, you have a good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

Meritorious

• Experience and/or knowledge of the maritime environment
• Good insight into Kustbevakningen's areas of operation
• Experience from intelligence operations at the Desk
• Training related to intelligence operations

Your role as an Intelligence Officer

In your role as a desk officer, you will handle and process large amounts of information and make decisions within the framework of the existing routine. You are able to prioritize and independently drive your work forward while being given the opportunity to plan your workday. You will often find yourself in situations where you need to prioritize tasks independently.

You will be the hub of the intelligence work at Kustbevakningen, which requires a good ability to collaborate with both internal and external actors. You are also expected to be proactive and contribute to the methodological development within the Intelligence Section. Your role as a desk officer further requires that you are engaged, structured, and curious.

Furthermore, you should have the ability to create trustworthy and continuous relationships in your daily work as well as through inter-agency collaboration, both nationally and internationally. This means that you often need to adapt to the environment in which you operate.

In the function, you handle sensitive and classified information, which means that a high degree of security awareness and integrity is a prerequisite. You also have a basic capacity to adapt to today's digital IT environment.

Conditions

The position is permanent with a start date according to agreement. Interviews may be conducted before the application deadline.

For employment, Swedish citizenship, a driver's license for passenger cars, a drug test, and a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act are required.

Kustbevakningen participates in overseas missions and international operations. Therefore, the employment includes an obligation to serve abroad when required for the operation.
