Skaraborg Hospital is looking for a Sterilization Technician

Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialized healthcare in about thirty specialties and work together for the health of our patients throughout their lives, offering cohesive and safe care. The area of operations includes Anesthesia/Operation, ICU/Post-op, Sterilization Unit, Pain Clinic, and Administrative Unit within SkaS, with operations in Lidköping, Skövde, and Falköping.

All units collaborate as the area of operations is viewed as a whole, meaning that staff may sometimes work at other locations within SkaS. During the summer, operations are concentrated in Skövde, and similar concentration may occur during the Christmas and New Year period.

Description

Sterilization units exist in all hospitals within SkaS, with Skövde currently being the largest, employing 15 staff members. We work in new facilities with robot assistance in both the cleaning and packing rooms. The unit employs operating room nurses, sterilization technicians, and nursing assistants.

Our largest internal customer is the operating department and eye surgery, but we also assist many other units in the hospital, such as the emergency department, maternity ward, and surgical and urology clinics. Among our external customers are health centers, midwifery, and youth clinics. We are open every day of the year, which means work during daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

As a sterilization technician, you play a crucial role in patient safety. Here, you will work with everything from thorough cleaning and disinfection to functional control, content control, and sterilization. We use the traceability system T-Doc, which ensures quality and safety throughout the healthcare chain. With us, you will be involved in developing both yourself and our unit by actively participating in our improvement and development work and taking responsibility for various areas.

Qualifications

You who are applying should be a trained sterilization technician. If you have experience, it is a significant plus, but the most important thing is that you are curious and want to develop together with us. We value flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
