Are you passionate about social work and meeting people in different life situations? Do you want to contribute to ensuring that young adults and adults receive the right support to live a more independent life? With us, you will have an independent and meaningful assignment where your decisions make a real difference.

The two positions are temporary contracts for one year with the possibility of extension. This could be a great opportunity for you to try a new area, develop in your professional role, and gain valuable experience within Skellefteå municipality. There are often good opportunities to continue within the municipality.

YOUR ROLE

As a case officer within SoL, you will work with authority exercises according to the Social Services Act. In this role, you primarily meet adults with mental health issues as well as neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities. You will assess applications, conduct home visits, engage in dialogue with relatives, and collaborate with the municipality's implementers and the region. Every day, you meet people at different stages of life, and you become an important link in creating quality of life and a functioning everyday life.

The work is conducted on the individual's terms. This means you need to be attentive and sometimes find alternative ways to communicate, such as through visual support or adapted conversations. What makes the assignment particularly meaningful is being able to follow people during a period in their lives and see how the right support can truly build self-esteem and independence.

You have significant personal responsibility and plan your days independently. At the same time, you are part of a stable workgroup where you support each other in cases, share experiences, and find solutions together. Right now, we are also in an exciting development phase related to the new Social Services Act, where you will have the opportunity to help shape future working methods.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker and ready to put your knowledge into practice. Since home visits are a natural part of the assignment, you need to have a B driver's license. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have a good understanding of the legislation that governs our work. It is an advantage if you have worked with case management within other authorities or organizations, such as the Social Insurance Agency, assistance case officer, or as a social worker. It is also beneficial if you have experience meeting individuals with mental health issues as well as neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities. Experience with operational systems such as Lifecare or Lifecare SP, as well as good digital skills, is a plus.

For us, your personal competencies are just as important as your education and experience. The work often involves multiple parallel cases, making it important that you can create structure and plan your time wisely. At the same time, the assignment is based on collaboration – with the person seeking support, with relatives, and with colleagues in both the municipality and the region. In meetings with people in vulnerable situations, you are attentive and show care, even when conversations are difficult. The role requires that you are confident in your decisions, as they may sometimes be questioned or appealed. By combining professionalism with respect and understanding, you create both trust and long-term solutions.

We welcome both newly graduated social workers and more experienced colleagues. The stable workgroup ensures that you receive good support and conditions to settle into the work, regardless of where you are in your career journey. New perspectives and extensive experience complement each other and make the workgroup stronger.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

With us, you will be part of the decision unit within Support and Service at the social office. The workgroup consists of 19 case officers and one housing planner. About half of the group works with LSS and half with SoL, and you collaborate closely with each other through joint workplace meetings and strong collegial support. This is a safe and experienced workgroup where many have worked for a long time. Even though you handle your cases independently, you never have to feel alone. We share knowledge, support each other, and care for a respectful and sustainable working method.

We believe that high flexibility and a sustainable balance are important for work, leisure, and well-being to function together in everyday life. Therefore, there is an opportunity to combine office work with digital meetings and remote work. Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

Skellefteå municipality is a secure employer, and in line with societal transformation and the new Social Services Act, a long-term development effort is underway where you will have the opportunity to grow in your role.

GOOD TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Tests may occur as part of the process.
