Is it perhaps about creating structure in everyday life, while patiently and pedagogically bringing out the best in each individual? Brilliant. Then you could be the support pedagogue we are looking for at our group home Kantgatan.

YOUR ROLE

As a support pedagogue, you are an important part of creating security, motivation, and structure for the individuals living in our group home. Your work involves supporting, motivating, and inspiring participation in everyday life – whether it’s about trying new activities, maintaining routines, or finding joy in small progress.

You have a guiding role where you, together with colleagues, contribute to implementation plans and pedagogical methods. Through your ability to prioritize and adapt the day when unforeseen events arise, you contribute to ensuring that the operation always maintains a high quality.

The work also involves supporting colleagues in their daily tasks and contributing to development through your knowledge of mental health, intellectual disabilities, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Here we work with individuals who are independent but need support in building structure, motivation, and security.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You have a post-secondary education from a vocational school or university – at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits – with a clear focus on working with individuals with intellectual, cognitive, or mental disabilities. We also welcome you who are newly graduated or writing your thesis to apply.

You have previous experience working with individuals with various disabilities, particularly in the area of neuropsychiatric disorders, mental health, or similar. You are confident in yourself and have the ability to remain calm and maintain a professional attitude even in challenging situations.

You are a skilled communicator, with pedagogical ability and a clear sense of when to be personal, professional, or private. Guiding and supporting colleagues comes naturally to you, and you are used to creating routines, structuring work, and finding solutions that make everyday life easier for both residents and staff.

As a person, you are structured, which for us means that you can create and adhere to working methods and routines that ensure the entire team works in a unified manner and has a common foundation to stand on. You work purposefully with the implementation plans and are motivated by seeing how small steps lead to increased independence for the residents, while also having the ability to engage your colleagues in working towards common goals.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have the ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions, and have a curiosity to try different approaches when facing obstacles. We also believe that you are best suited for the role if you have a motivating outlook and a genuine commitment to seeing others grow.

Good knowledge of Swedish is required, both orally and in writing (at least a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1). Skellefteå municipality is a Finnish and Sámi administrative municipality, which means that knowledge of Finnish or Sámi is advantageous. If you can also sign language, we see it as an asset in our operations.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Kantgatan is a group home within LSS located in central Skellefteå. Here, six people live, and we are a team of seven employees who together create a safe, developing, and meaningful environment. Working hours are day, evening, and weekend, as well as on-call night. Awake night shifts may occur but are not a requirement for you to be able to work.
