Job Responsibilities

Are you a recent graduate engineer in civil engineering, such as road and water or construction technology, and interested in working as a project engineer at the City Properties in Malmö? As a project engineer, you will have a broad and varied role and be part of a project organization with experienced construction project managers. You will work on exciting complex construction projects that develop Malmö into a more sustainable and attractive city! We are building swimming pools, preschools, sports facilities, schools, elderly homes, and more.

The project unit, part of City Properties, renovates and constructs new buildings on behalf of our local user administrations. The project unit is tasked with driving construction projects, and we are involved from the idea stage all the way to handing over the completed building to the local user and property manager.

As a project engineer, you will:

• Assist the project manager in all relevant project management tasks such as design, procurement, and production issues.
• Assist in project follow-up regarding time, cost, risks, quality, safety, etc.
• Participate in and eventually independently lead internal meetings, such as driving development groups and managing smaller projects.
• Structure and administer projects according to applicable routines.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree of at least 180 credits in civil engineering, such as road and water or construction engineering. You should have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills.

As a person, you thrive in a social work role and have a knack for building good relationships both internally and externally. The role requires a careful and structured working method and good collaboration skills. You also find it easy to follow instructions. We offer a broad work role with a fast pace and significant involvement in large construction projects. The position includes professional development in areas such as project management and contract law, with the aim of eventually leading your own projects.

City Properties' approximately 200 employees manage Malmö City's properties for schools, childcare, elderly care, and culture. The portfolio amounts to over 1.8 million square meters and generates an annual turnover of about 2 billion SEK. Our most important task is to meet our local users' needs for well-functioning premises.

The service administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transport services to IT and responding to citizens in Malmö City's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green areas, and beaches, manage all of Malmö City's buildings, and ensure that our school students receive good and nutritious food.
