This is what the job is about.

In this position, you will work as a network operations technician for water and wastewater systems and, together with your colleagues, be responsible for the operation, ongoing service, and maintenance of the public sewer network. You will spend most of your time outdoors on assignments in all VA SYD's member municipalities (Burlöv, Eslöv, Lomma, Lund, Malmö, and Svedala). We are careful to ensure that the work is carried out safely and with quality.

The work is normally based at our workplace on Agnesfridsvägen in Malmö, but our projects and tasks are located throughout VA SYD's entire operational area. The Distribution department is responsible for all parts included in a distribution facility; networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, pressure boosting stations, and tanks. The department is responsible for both renewal planning and network improvements. It also holds the responsibility for the Bulltofta water treatment plant. Wastewater distributes sewage and stormwater within VA SYD's member municipalities. The unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sewer network and associated facilities and devices needed to transport wastewater from customers to the treatment plant. Responsibilities

• Perform and document planned inspections, service, and maintenance of the sewer network.
• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems in the network
• Handle urgent operational disturbances and take measures to prevent downtime
• Participate in planned repairs and other maintenance efforts
• Update and analyze map data in GIS systems.
• Actively contribute to a safe and secure working environment 
• On-call duty may be included in the role

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Education or experience relevant to the tasks and role
• Good technical understanding and experience working with digital documentation and GIS
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license B (BE and C licenses are advantageous)
