What we do and want

In Tyresö municipality, there are three libraries.

The libraries are located in Tyresö center, Trollbäcken, and Tyresö strand, and we currently have 17 employees. Children and young people are a prioritized target group in the culture and leisure administration in Tyresö municipality, and we collaborate with the Education Administration regarding school libraries. We have open hours at two of the libraries and also operate a library bus.

About the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Scheduled weekend and evening shifts are included. Your tasks, in addition to staffing our libraries and meeting visitors, will focus on collaboration with our schools and, to some extent, assisting at some school libraries. You will participate in the planning and implementation of interesting and important activities for our community members at the library. You will have fixed tasks but also the opportunity to try other tasks that you find interesting.

Who are you?

You have a degree in library and information science or equivalent.
You have experience working in public and school libraries.
You should be able to express yourself well, both verbally and in writing.
You have good knowledge of children's and youth literature.

As a person, you need to be able to work independently, be proactive, and flexible. You should have good collaboration skills and be service-oriented, which is necessary in interactions with visitors and collaborations within and outside the libraries.

We place great importance on personal suitability and that you complement the rest of the workgroup.
