Process Technician at Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant in Malmö

Your upcoming role

The process technician at Sjölunda is responsible for ensuring that there are conditions to carry out sampling according to applicable legislation, as well as developing sampling and online analysis of process parameters to achieve effective and reliable monitoring of the treatment plant.

As a process technician, you contribute to improvements and are part of a team responsible for the operation, supervision, and maintenance of the plant.

Your tasks include:

• Process monitoring and optimization in collaboration with process engineers and operations technicians
• Maintenance of online instruments and samplers to comply with legal requirements and in accordance with the self-monitoring program
• Follow-up of online monitoring of process parameters
• Purchasing of samplers, analyzers, and online instruments, as well as developing related service and framework agreements
• Planning of sampling and analysis of wastewater and sludge in collaboration with process engineers and laboratory staff
• Providing support to all wastewater treatment plants regarding sampling and online monitoring
• Maintaining chemical registers for the facilities and participating in risk assessments of chemical handling and procurement of bulk chemicals
• Participating in investigations and projects related to your work area, as well as helping to develop the operations

The group of employees at the operation, Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant - one of Sweden's largest treatment plants - consists of 10 operations technicians, three operations engineers, one facility engineer, one team leader, and one process technician. The role is based at Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant, but work at other VA SYD facilities may occur.

The Sjölunda operations group is part of VA SYD's Production Department, which is responsible for our production facilities for wastewater treatment and biogas. The department is organized into units for Wastewater Treatment, Maintenance, Process & Development, Reception, and Laboratory.

Your experiences

We are looking for someone who:

• Post-secondary education in water, process, or operations technology
• Experience from production operations, preferably in the water or process industry
• Good knowledge of sampling and analysis of wastewater and sludge
• Understanding of control technology and automation
• Knowledge of chemical handling
• Driver's license (B)
