Service Technician at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Fosie Prison is located on the outskirts of Malmö and was built in 1986. Fosie is a security class 2 prison with room for 173 men, where approximately 300 employees and 10 managers manage, lead, and develop the operations. The operations are in constant change and have been expanded several times over the years, including the establishment of places for particularly resource-demanding inmates (SRI) and a new modular building completed in 2023.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of service technician is a shared role between property management and security technology. The property part of the job involves, together with your colleagues, responsibility for the prison's internal and external property maintenance in close cooperation with property owners and external contractors. The work includes property management, maintenance, repairs, administration of fault reports, orders, and invoices, as well as participation in local construction projects.

The tasks within security technology include, among other things, local responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and service of the organization's technological security systems. The systems consist, among other things, of overarching alarm systems with subsystems such as intercom systems, assault alarms, CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control systems, and the radio communication system RAKEL. The role also includes administration, programming, documentation, and reinvestment of the aforementioned systems. You will also support the headquarters in managing their IT equipment related to security technology. Administrative tasks such as access administration, documentation, registry maintenance, exchange, and support for hardware related to our security systems are also included. Likewise, you will be the contact between the operational sites and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's mobile IT technicians who conduct operational visits at regular intervals.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills and a high sense of service, as you will have many personal contacts both within and outside the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You have the ability to listen attentively and communicate accordingly, as well as an interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You strive in various situations with a clear solution focus, while also taking responsibility and ensuring that existing solutions work as expected. You have good judgment, take responsibility for your tasks, and are structured.

Of course, you have a genuine interest in security technology and property work. It is important to us that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed high school education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Experience in operating forklifts and tractors
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written
• Good knowledge of English both spoken and written
• Completed the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's basic training
• Manual B driver's license
• Work experience in property management or property service at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

It is an advantage if you have:

• Property technical education or equivalent
• Experience in repairing simple vehicles
• Experience in chemical handling
• Work with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's security technology systems
• Good computer skills
