Property Technician with a Focus on Real Estate

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Fosie Prison is located on the outskirts of Malmö and was built in 1986. Fosie is a prison of security class 2 with space for 173 men, where approximately 300 employees and 10 managers manage, lead, and develop the operations. The operations are in constant change and have been expanded several times over the years, including by establishing places for particularly resource-intensive inmates (SRI) and through a new modular building completed in 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In the role of property technician with a focus on real estate, you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for both internal and external property maintenance in accordance with the applicable boundary list with the landlord. The position therefore requires close collaboration with the landlord and external contractors. You will also be involved in ongoing construction projects on the prison grounds.

Tasks within property management may include:

• Handling and administration of fault reports from the prison's various units
• Troubleshooting, fault correction, and maintenance of property-related maintenance
• Repair of, for example, work vehicles, TVs, and ride-on lawnmowers
• Assembly of furnishings and furniture
• Park management and ice prevention
• Handling and administration of orders
• Handling and administration of invoices

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills and a high sense of service, as you will have many personal contacts both within and outside the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You have the ability to listen attentively and communicate accordingly, and you have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You strive in various situations with a clear solution focus, while also taking responsibility and ensuring that existing solutions work as expected. You have good judgment, take responsibility for your tasks, and are structured.

Of course, you have a genuine interest in security technology and property work. It is important to us that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally with your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• A manual B driver's license

It is an advantage if you have:

• Property technical education or similar
• Experience in corrections
• Completed the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's basic training
• Work experience in property management or property service
• Experience in operating forklifts and/or tractors
• Experience in repairing simpler vehicles
• Experience in chemical handling
• Good computer skills
