Develop the Support Housing and Housing Support Unit

Do you want to help develop the Support Housing and Housing Support Unit based on the new Social Services Act with the goal of contributing to a better life for children and adults in contexts of abuse and violence?

The new Social Services Act entails an increased need for staffing and competence in the area. Therefore, we are now looking for new employees for the Support Housing and Housing Support Unit ASF/IFO to work at our Protected Housing for victims of violence.

Job Responsibilities

The tasks are varied depending on who lives with us and what individual support needs they have. You will be part of a team that primarily works at our protected housing for adults and children who have experienced violence, as well as, when needed, at housing for individuals with dependency issues. The team also works with individuals who need housing support in their own homes. The unit also includes two residences and a daily activity center for individuals with dependency issues. You will work independently on your own cases but often in close collaboration with other colleagues. Furthermore, you need to be able to make quick decisions in consultation with colleagues, team leaders, and management. You will have close cooperation with caseworkers and advisors within the unit for Violence in Close Relationships, caseworkers in Child and Family, Social Assistance, and Harmful Use and Dependence.

Your work will include support based on the client's individual needs. For example, this may involve everyday tasks such as assisting and helping with grocery shopping, cooking, driving children to school/preschool, as well as support during meetings with other authorities, life crises, and being a sounding board in certain situations. Other responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, conducting tests, and creating implementation plans based on the care plan and assignment description, etc. The work also includes, in consultation with the individual, establishing a safety plan and maintaining contact with caseworkers and advisors.

Documentation responsibility is included in the position.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

  • You are an educated social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or treatment assistant (2-year post-secondary education) or what the employer deems equivalent
  • You have experience with the target group
  • You have a B driver's license
  • You are proficient in using various data systems

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is accustomed to working flexibly, with the ability to shift focus quickly when necessary. We see that you have an interest in the target groups of substance abuse and violence in close relationships. You have good collaboration skills and are used to working with other professionals in various fields. It is important that you are humble, stable, secure in yourself, and have good self-awareness. This is of great value as you will be meeting people in various vulnerable situations and crises.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Documented training in Violence in Close Relationships
  • Training in FREDA, Patriark, and Sara
  • MI training
  • Training in crisis and grief processing
  • Training in working with children and adults with trauma
  • Experience working with children
  • Knowledge and experience with the documentation system Treserva

Employment Conditions

The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.

The work involves shifts during the day, evening, and weekends, as well as on-call duties at home. If the National Board of Health and Welfare decides on round-the-clock supervision at Protected Housing, night shifts will also occur.
