Do you want to develop in your professional role as a nurse and are you interested in orthopedic surgical care? Now you have the opportunity for professional development and academic studies on paid working hours. Akademiska Hospital offers the possibility of study salary for nurses who are accepted into the specialist nursing program in surgical care. After completing and passing the specialist education, you will be employed as a specialist nurse in the orthopedic department 70AB. If you already have a position with us, you will continue with a position as a specialist nurse.

The studies are conducted part-time over two years, and during the study period, you will work clinically as a nurse 50% in the department where you are employed while studying 50%. After your graduation as a specialist nurse in surgical care, you will work clinically in the business in your position as a specialist nurse in surgical care, and part of your working time will be spent strengthening nursing through mentoring colleagues, improvement work, development of the business, and education.

Conditions

Your study salary corresponds to 100% of the base salary up to 32,000 SEK/month, and it is aimed at nurses who are permanently employed or who, in connection with recruitment, will receive a permanent position at Akademiska Hospital, Region Uppsala and start their education in the autumn semester of 2026 at Uppsala University. The study salary is vacation pay qualifying and is not paid during holidays and any study breaks. During the summer period, you will instead work clinically in your position as a nurse in your department.

The hospital prioritizes applicants who have not previously received study salary during specialist training within Region Uppsala.
