JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you secure, attentive, and passionate about supporting children/youth based on their individual needs? Then you might be the right person for our LSS accommodation where children and young people with disabilities live full-time. We are now looking for support pedagogues for the accommodation located in Hille.

As a support pedagogue, you are a central part of the children's daily lives, providing both security and motivation. You meet each child with empathy, respect, and a professional attitude, even in emotionally challenging situations. You provide individually tailored support based on each child's needs and implementation plans, working both independently and together with colleagues.

Your role includes professionally responding to children even in challenging behaviors and participating in their activities, routines, and outings. You collaborate closely with guardians, schools, and habilitation to ensure that the children receive the right interventions.

You use and introduce alternative communication methods such as TAKK, picture schedules, TD Snap, Widgit, and PECS to enhance children's communication and participation.

As a support pedagogue, your tasks also include:

• Developing and coordinating pedagogical methods.
• Guiding colleagues in documentation and professional ethical issues.
• Contributing to systematic quality work and collaborating with other support pedagogues.
• Being a pedagogical role model and contributing with environmental monitoring and suggestions for professional development.
• Documenting in social journals and writing and updating action and implementation plans.

The accommodation is staffed around the clock, which means that shift work is included according to the schedule with day, evening, night, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a secure and attentive pedagogue who supports both the children/youth and your colleagues. Through clear communication, respect, and the ability to strengthen and motivate others, you contribute to a positive and developing environment.

• You have an approved support pedagogue YH education of 200 higher vocational education credits or are a qualified preschool teacher.
• You must have at least one year of experience working in housing with special services for children or youth according to LSS (children's accommodation), short-term care for children or youth according to LSS, or group housing for adults LSS.
• You have experience or training in alternative communication methods such as TAKK, picture schedules, TD Snap (pratis), Widgit, PECS.
• You should be able to maintain social documentation and have good computer skills.
• A requirement for the position is to have a manual driver's license as you often drive the children on outings and other activities.

It is an advantage if you have training or experience in low-arousal approaches.
