Sätraängen short-term home is aimed at children and young people under 18 years old who have various diagnoses and disabilities. The short-term home has three places. Each child/young person has their own room during their stay.

Here, children and young people have a meaningful, safe, and fun leisure time. Activities are adapted based on needs, interests, and wishes. We encourage community through excursions and activities, and the children have the opportunity to socialize with each other and develop their social skills. Each child receives an implementation plan with goals that contribute to development and well-being. At Sätraängen, support educators and support assistants work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you an engaged person who enjoys working with children and young people with disabilities and puts their needs and interests at the center? Great! Then we have the job for you. We are now looking for support assistants to our team. Together we make Gävle meaningful.

In your role as a support assistant, you will support the children based on their needs and interests, for example, care work and leisure activities in both groups and individually. It is important to us that you are a person who has children and young people in focus in everything you do. It is the children's wishes and interests that form the basis for the activities that are planned and carried out. Furthermore, you will work based on each child's implementation plan that specifies needs and goals for each individual child.

Since many children in the program use pictures and/or signs, part of your tasks will involve working with signs. Daily tasks also include household chores of various kinds, documenting, as well as informing and maintaining contact with the children's guardians in various contexts. You will also be responsible for several areas of responsibility within the program.

At the short-term home, you will work on a schedule that includes day/evening, weekend, and night shifts, as well as on-call duty. You have the opportunity to suggest how your schedule should be arranged, but the needs of the program will dictate this. The position is currently 75%, but there is room for dialogue regarding this.

We offer you an important role with us at Sätraängen where you work to keep our children/young people at the center. If you share our passion for supporting and caring for young people, you are welcome to apply for the position of Support Assistant with us!
