Support Worker for Relatives in Bollnäs Municipality

Bollnäs Municipality is now seeking an engaged and experienced employee for our support for relatives.

The service is aimed at relatives who support a loved one who, due to illness, disability, addiction, relationship issues, or frailty, needs support in daily life. The purpose of the support for relatives is to facilitate for relatives and thereby reduce or delay the need for other or more extensive interventions. The support for relatives is available to all relatives, regardless of age, and no other interventions from social services are required to access the support.

As a support worker for relatives, you will work with individually tailored and supportive interventions for relatives and loved ones. The role includes providing respite care, both in the individual's home and in our apartment that serves as a safe place. You will also participate in day activities, plan and lead support groups for relatives, provide information about the support services, and guide relatives to the right authorities as needed. The work also involves organizing lectures and information sessions, as well as conducting home visits for new contacts and follow-ups.

The position focuses on respite care in the loved one's own home and in our safe apartment. The work is always based on the needs of the relatives, which means there is no fixed schedule. Working hours are planned according to local agreements on annual working time for certain staff within the support for relatives and can be scheduled for daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends.

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or has completed a care program, has a driver's license, and at least five years of work experience in care and assistance. In the role of support worker for relatives, a good creative and analytical ability is required, as there are no ready-made assignments; each situation is unique and requires individual solutions. You need to be able to meet relatives from a physical, mental, social, and existential perspective and have good practical and organizational skills.

As a person, you are empathetic, respectful, and have a good approach. You easily create security and instill trust, collaborate well with others, and have good adaptability in a job characterized by variation and changing needs.
