IT Security Specialist

The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) conducts operations within defense intelligence, military intelligence, and military security services. We offer an important and stimulating job where you daily help contribute to Sweden's security together with some of Sweden's leading IT experts.

At the System Review Section (SG) at Must, some of Sweden's foremost experts in IT and information security work. We review the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems and IT security-enhancing products to ensure they maintain a high security level and contribute to defending Sweden and Swedish interests. The section supports other authorities regarding security-sensitive operations. We manage, develop, and interpret requirements for security capabilities. We participate in national and international working groups, and travel abroad may occur.
Main Responsibilities
The tasks include reviewing and assessing IT systems and IT security-enhancing products based on associated system documentation and applicable regulations. This involves checking their security capabilities, threats, and risks against these systems, as well as the trust in the technical implementation. The tasks also include formulating and writing necessary documents regarding the review and assessment of the IT systems. As an IT security specialist, you will also conduct unit visits and participate in security checks at various locations. You will provide support and guidance on IT security issues and work proactively with regulatory changes and guidelines in various technical areas. In your work, you will follow current laws, regulations, and ethical principles to best manage and protect information with high security quality.
Qualifications
- Degree at an academic level or competencies and experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Several years of documented experience in IT and information security
- Solid technical IT competence
- Good technical understanding as the tasks largely consist of analyzing governing documents and technical review reports
- Deep knowledge of information security related to evaluating vulnerabilities and suggesting protective measures
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in English and Swedish
- Driver's license for passenger cars
Meritorious
It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of IT architecture, are or have been employed within the Armed Forces, and have knowledge of the authority and the regulations governing the Armed Forces and total defense.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and meticulous with good analytical skills. You have good collaboration skills and are stimulated by working in a fast-paced, changing environment. The position requires a high level of security awareness. The ability to quickly switch between planned and event-driven tasks with the capacity to rapidly understand a problem that arises on short notice is essential.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
The qualifications mentioned above must be verifiable upon request through certificates, references, and work or selection tests.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
