About Eriksdalsgården

Eriksdalsgården is a care home located in the Luthagen district of Uppsala. We have 40 places spread over two floors - but no dementia ward. Our beautiful and spacious courtyard is a natural gathering point during the summer months. In the surrounding area, there are pleasant walking paths and proximity to Mimmi Ekholm's square with shops and several lunch restaurants. About the role

As a nursing assistant at Eriksdalsgården, you will work with person-centered care and support in our two care departments. You are an important part of the team that creates safety and quality of life for our residents. The work is varied and includes both practical and social interventions.

The position involves a schedule with varied working hours between day and evening shifts as well as work every other weekend. It is not possible to work only daytime or only evening shifts, as all care staff work according to a schedule that includes both days and evenings. We have dedicated night staff.

Your main responsibilities

• Perform regular tasks as a nursing assistant in elderly care
• Be responsible for at least one specific area of responsibility (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, palliative care)
• Work rehabilitatively and promote independence among our residents
• Provide support in personal care
• Provide palliative care at the end of life
• Perform delegated health care tasks such as medication, insulin, and tube feeding
• Document in the journal system
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a good work environment
• Maintain close contact with relatives and actively work with case management

Your background

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant. It is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You should also be able to handle delegation in medication, insulin, and tube feeding. You have good computer skills as well as documentation skills. Experience in elderly care or work in hospitals is an advantage. You easily adapt to changing circumstances. You can make decisions based on available information and act accordingly. You are calm, stable, and focus on the right things even when the pace is high. Your approach is attentive and professional, and you contribute to good collaborations by communicating clearly and resolving conflicts constructively. You have the ability to help others and strive to find solutions.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. To use the title of nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or certificates, you may temporarily hold the title of care assistant during a transition period.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve military placement.
