Job Responsibilities

The City of Gothenburg is currently in a significant expansion phase where water and sewage (VA) issues play an important role, as we handle matters related to the city's development.

We are now looking for two VA engineers for the Connection and Law unit.

As a VA engineer, you will:

• Handle VA connection issues during new construction and expansion projects.
• Prepare documentation for new construction maps with appropriate connection points.
• Manage the VA part of building permits, including providing pricing information based on the VA tariff.

Together with your VA engineer colleagues, you will staff the phone and email for VA inquiries. In this work, you need to apply and interpret the law on public water services and the VA tariff. Daily tasks will be mixed with administrative duties, problem-solving, contact with property owners and other city departments, as well as site visits to assess the actual ground conditions on location.

The unit consists of 20 employees in various professional roles. In addition to VA engineers, there are claims adjusters, investigators, building inspectors, and a lawyer. The work is characterized by a very good collaborative climate where we support each other and utilize each other's strengths and motivations.

Qualifications

To apply for the position, you need:

• At least a YH engineering degree in civil engineering with elements of VA technology.
• A valid driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in similar work, such as a plumbing inspector, VA designer, or site manager in the construction sector where you have worked with water and sewage in some form.
• Experience from service professions with a lot of customer contact.

As a VA engineer, you have many contact points both internally and externally, and it is therefore important that you have the ability to adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. We meet customers in various situations, which requires your ability to listen to others and understand their needs. Our calculations are of utmost importance for our customers to be able to connect their lines, and you therefore need to be meticulous and ensure that your work is accurate and thoroughly executed. Furthermore, we see that a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to rapid changes will help you succeed.

Conditions

The position is security classified and requires Swedish citizenship as well as an approved security screening consisting of, among other things, a background check, security interview, and alcohol and drug tests.
