Description
Västfastigheter Construction and Management carries out new and renovation projects for the facilities of the Västra Götaland Region.
We participate in feasibility studies prior to projects and are responsible for program and system documents, design, and implementation. Our clients are primarily within healthcare, but also in the cultural sector, at folk high schools, agricultural high schools, as well as travel centers, bus and train depots throughout the Västra Götaland Region.
The Regional Governance unit is organizationally under the Strategic Property Functions area. The unit is responsible for coordinating region-wide strategic issues and currently consists of 21 employees. Due to the increased focus on security, we are now looking for a project manager in security and preparedness!
Responsibilities
As a project manager in security and preparedness, your main task will be to develop and strengthen the work with security and preparedness and to implement measures to enhance robustness in Västfastigheter's property portfolio. You will drive projects in the security area, which may involve implementing security-enhancing measures in shelters or investigations regarding needs for measures in protected spaces and crisis management rooms. Your role includes monitoring how other property owners work with robustness-enhancing measures and implementing good examples in our development work in the area. You will also coordinate and contribute to the work of applying for and following up on national grants in the security area and act as a technical requirement setter regarding security in the various construction projects. An important part of the role is that you will work regionally and continuously inform, collaborate, and advise colleagues and other stakeholders. Since the position is new, you will have the opportunity to shape the role yourself.
You will be based at our activity-based office at the Region's house in Gothenburg. Travel is included in the position, and where possible, we prefer to use public transport when traveling.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained civil or university engineer in a relevant field or equivalent education and several years of experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have good documented experience working with issues related to security and preparedness and have good property knowledge. We see that you have experience in driving complex projects with many contact points.
To thrive in the role, we think you enjoy having a lot of responsibility and understand the importance of always keeping the big picture in mind. We are looking for someone with decisiveness and initiative who ensures that things get done. Since you will have many contact points and be the “spider in the web” in the area, the role requires good collaboration skills. You are structured and have the ability to plan and organize your work. Since the role is new, you need to be prepared for the nature of the work to change over time based on needs that arise in the area, and you need to be flexible and comfortable with that.
