Your mission

As an analyst, you belong to the Signals Intelligence department, which conducts signal intelligence according to the law on signal intelligence in defense intelligence operations. The department delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's clients.

In the role of analyst, you will systematically search, process, and analyze collected data and information, draw relevant conclusions, and document your findings in intelligence reports. You will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team with shared goals and areas of work.

The phenomena we monitor span a wide range of areas. The work is influenced by technological development, which requires you to adapt your work methods accordingly, as well as to apply methods for collection and analysis together with your colleagues, and to report and adjust production according to customer needs. Finding new ways to tackle today's and tomorrow's challenges is a natural part of our operations.

You will have contact with many different people and functions internally, as well as with our clients, and contribute to developing these collaborations. International business trips may occur.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in a relevant field for the employer, such as political science, law, economics, or technology. Alternatively, equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
  • Experience working with processing and analysis of large amounts of data or equivalent knowledge gained through studies.
  • Experience in report writing or similar.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Fluency in writing, understanding, and communicating in both Swedish and English.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Knowledge of/worked/studied in the communities and/or neighboring regions where Russian is spoken.
  • Experience in translation work.
  • Work experience from the Armed Forces, Government Offices, Security Police, another authority, or security/intelligence service.
  • Experience producing materials/reports within a government agency or investigative work.
  • Experience in security, foreign, or defense policy.
  • Experience in investigative journalism.
  • Experience with any type of analytical tools.
  • Good reading and listening comprehension in Russian.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes by bus from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is a successful security clearance with a background check. The security clearance will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
