About the AssignmentYou will join a team on a modernization journey, developing and operating cloud-native solutions in Azure within the pet insurance domain. In this role, you will take a leading part in establishing and evolving a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice—setting ways of working, choosing tools, and strengthening the culture needed for reliable, scalable operations.
You’ll work closely with development teams and stakeholders to improve operational excellence across Azure-based workloads, with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and incident response.
Job Description- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of SRE practices for Azure workloads.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed SRE principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Own (together with the team) operational health, performance, and reliability of services running in Azure.
- Define and implement monitoring, incident management processes, and post-incident reviews.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting/software development (e.g., C#, Python, Node.js, or other suitable languages).
- Mentor and guide teams on best practices in reliability, observability, and cloud operations.
- Participate in and lead incident response efforts.
- Establish and maintain a desired-state operational model in collaboration with stakeholders and platform teams.
- At least five years of work experience in the IT field.
- Proven hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, working closely with development teams on modern operations.
- Deep knowledge of Azure and operating/troubleshooting workloads such as Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure App Service, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
- Good understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), including backups and restore operations.
- Software development skills to automate repetitive manual tasks (e.g., C#, Node.js, Python, or similar).
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps, including Git branching and code review practices.
- Good understanding of networking, especially Azure virtual networks.
- Practical knowledge of incident and problem management.
- Azure certification(s).
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
- Kubernetes experience (AKS and/or OpenShift).
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
