About the Position

As an IT architect within the Balancing Applications unit, you have a strategically central role where you set the direction for both technology and working methods. You are part of a SAFe-inspired delivery train and its management, where you coordinate between several development teams, product owners, domain architects, and management to ensure that the solutions are robust, scalable, and meet high security and operational reliability requirements.

You translate business and technical requirements into clear architecture, visualize solutions, and communicate them in an understandable way to both development teams and the business. You lead forums for technical leaders, set guidelines and principles, and ensure that the development work follows a common strategy.

The systems you develop support the balancing of the Nordic electricity market, and you are also building the future integrated energy market together with other European actors. The role gives you the opportunity to influence the technical direction, own and contribute to the architecture's vision, and create conditions for a high-quality development environment. Your task is to clearly show how things should be developed going forward.

Main Responsibilities:

• Analyze, develop, and propose improvements to the current system architecture with a focus on security, performance, and operational reliability
• Develop and document architecture principles, guidelines, and target images
• Lead and coordinate architecture forums for technical leaders
• Ensure that solutions follow established standards, guidelines, and target images
• Collaborate closely with development teams, product owners, and management organizations
• Visualize and communicate complex technical solutions for different target groups, at different levels in the organization
• Assess the consequences of technical choices and changes in the IT landscape
• Support teams in translating principles into concrete work and best practices

About You

We are looking for someone who is strategic, structured, and confident in their skills. You are curious, forward-leaning, and analytical, and see the big picture in complex development environments. You find it easy to collaborate, are pedagogical, and enjoy guiding others towards common goals. Furthermore, you are used to navigating many contact surfaces and have a desire to drive improvements and take responsibility for how the development work is organized and held together.

You have the ability to oscillate between high-level architecture and dialogue close to development teams, in questions concerning how solutions should be shaped and realized. Regardless of format, you can structure and visualize architecture so that it becomes understandable, usable, and drives the work forward.

Since the systems are critical to society, it is important that you are quality- and security-conscious. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Extensive documented work experience in system development (Java) and architectural work
• Good knowledge of integration patterns and API design (REST, GraphQL, event-driven architecture)
• Ability to document and visualize architecture (e.g., with C4 model or ArchiMate)
• Experience working according to agile principles in a large delivery organization consisting of several development teams
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is Meritorious if You Have Experience in:

• Designing and leading work with microservices architectures and distributed systems
• CI/CD, DevOps principles, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Security architecture and IAM
• Certification in TOGAF, Azure Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent
• Experience from critical systems or 24/7 operational environments
• Work in the public sector or within the energy sector
