MediCarrier is looking for a transport specialist with an interest in IT
MediCarrier is the logistics and transport company of Region Stockholm, and the external warehouse for healthcare. Since January 1, 2021, MediCarrier is also responsible for the region's emergency stockpile of critical protective equipment and critical consumables for healthcare. We are a dynamic and growing company with an important social mission. We have a turnover of approximately 1.4 billion SEK, handle 9,000 order lines per day, and make 30,000 deliveries per month.
About the role
We are looking for an innovative transport specialist with an interest in IT and high IT maturity, who wants to use systems and data to drive improvements in both daily routines and long-term processes.
As a transport and systems specialist, you will support transport development through a combination of system expertise and understanding of logistical processes. You will work closely with the transport developer and contribute to the development of efficient transport solutions. The work is a mix of system-related tasks, business development, and analysis of transport flows. Organizationally, you belong to the Transport Services business area and report to the business area manager.
Your main responsibilities
- Participate in projects and development initiatives within transport and logistics
- Map, analyze, and improve transport flows and routines
- Prepare and present reports/statistics for the business and customers
- Troubleshoot, configure, and specify requirements in TMS and other transport systems, such as route optimization and temperature monitoring solutions
- Contribute to the development of solutions for route optimization, traceability, and quality assurance
- Assist in transport procurement through analysis and documentation
- Support users in system-related issues, including handheld devices and temperature monitoring
Who are you?
You have a university degree in logistics, transport, IT, or a related field. Alternatively, you have equivalent work experience that has given you both system expertise and an understanding of logistics flows. This could be experience from roles such as traffic manager, transport coordinator, logistics assistant, superuser, system requirement specifier, or system administrator. Regardless of the role, part of your work has involved identifying and driving improvements in work methods and processes. You need to have experience with transport and logistics systems, preferably TMS (e.g., Opter) or other logistics systems like WMS. You also have good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts, data management) and have worked with troubleshooting, system configuration, and analysis and follow-up of logistics data.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in route optimization, traffic management, or transport planning
- Knowledge of transport procurement and requirement specification
- Understanding of traceability solutions and temperature monitoring
- Experience with SQL and database management
- Knowledge of EDI/API and XML
You are an analytical and structured person who enjoys understanding how technology and logistics interact. With your curiosity and problem-solving ability, you find improvements that make a difference in everyday life. You work meticulously and take responsibility for ensuring that your solutions work in practice. At the same time, you are unpretentious, helpful, and thrive in collaboration with others. Your communication skills allow you to easily bridge the gap between systems and operations.
