Job Description

In public transport operations, a large number of video cameras are used by several different actors, such as operators in a central security function that handles phone calls, chat, and alarms. The video material is used to support the management and distribution of security personnel in both emergency and preventive situations.

The video material currently used mainly comes from fixed cameras at stations. The operation is now moving forward by gradually connecting cameras from vehicles such as buses, trains, and boats. Infrastructure and working methods are being digitized, with the goal of realizing new functions in a flexible and efficient manner for end users.

The organization manages its video management system (VMS) and is developing a completely new system environment with increased automation and functionality to best support security work.

The work is primarily done with applications on Windows and some backend on Linux. All systems are on-prem. Many backend components are built in .NET and run both as traditional Windows applications and as containers on Linux. Development and operations are conducted according to agile working methods and DevOps principles.

The assignment concerns an experienced system administrator who, together with a cross-functional team, will build a stable, secure, and manageable system environment for the new implementation of the VMS solution. Central components for live and recorded video run on Windows, while support systems and custom-developed components run on Linux (e.g., RedHat or Ubuntu).

Part of the work involves close collaboration with solution architects to develop a comprehensive Configuration Management setup for the environment and a solution for building and managing container-based images.

You have experience in system operations in larger organizations with complex services and many stakeholders, and are accustomed to collaborating with various roles and competencies. The system to be deployed is mission-critical, where correct functionality can be crucial in critical situations.

The work primarily focuses on the development and implementation of Configuration Management and CI/CD solutions for all parts of the system environment.

The assignment is mainly performed on-site at offices in the Stockholm area, according to the needs of the organization and the agile teams. The working language is Swedish in speech and writing, as well as to some extent English.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least five (5) years of documented work experience in system and application operations in Windows and Linux server environments
• At least two (2) years of experience in administration and automation via scripts, such as PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent (e.g., Python, Ansible, Shell script)
• Documented experience from at least two (2) assignments of designing and implementing CI/CD solutions for .NET-based applications or equivalent platforms/tools
• At least one (1) year of documented experience in agile working methods

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working with video management systems (VMS)
• At least one (1) year of practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, or infrastructure for .NET-based projects
• At least one (1) year of practical experience using Dependency Injection in application development
