In this role, you will be part of a department with two teams working on software for complex systems for the Swedish defense capability. Your focus will be on system development with an integration orientation, where you work on integrating a specific domain into a larger system landscape. The work involves development and adaptation of software at the application and system level, with an emphasis on C++ and Java, as well as work with interfaces, adapters, and system connections.

You will work closely with other developers and experts in adjacent areas and be involved in the entire development process, from requirements and design to implementation, testing, and delivery. The teams work structured with sprints and regular check-ins, with a clear delivery focus and high demands on quality and documentation.

The role involves the development and integration of software modules that are part of larger naval command and control systems. The work is varied and close to real products, where the team contributes to systems used in complex operations.

You will be part of one of two application teams – either a team that integrates various weapon systems or a team that focuses on video, video data distribution, and simulators for external equipment. The work includes application development, protocol integration, video conversion, network configuration, and work in simulated environments.

Developers are involved in the entire process: requirements breakdown, design, implementation, documentation, testing, and acceptance against the customer. Scrum is used in three-week sprints, and the teams work towards clear milestones each quarter. The role involves close collaboration with experts in several technical areas, providing both learning and continuity.

The team works with the integration of new hardware and software at the protocol level and develops adapters that translate internal commands into something that external HW/SW can interpret. The work is primarily software-close, not embedded, but some hardware connection occurs.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations. This position requires only Swedish citizenship.

• At least 8–10 years of experience in application development.

• An engineering degree is desirable, but extensive relevant work experience can replace formal education.

• Fluent Swedish and English are required.

• Solid experience in application development in C, C++, or Java and the ability to learn new languages as needed.

• Experience with Linux or Windows, with Linux being most prevalent in the work.

• Experience working with video processing Mpeg-4, H.264.

• Experience with networks, multicast, tcp/ip.

Salary: Fixed monthly salary
