At the Swedish Migration Agency, you will help build robust, user-friendly solutions in agile teams – where testing is a natural part of the entire development process, not just a final step.
The development organization within the Swedish Migration Agency's digitalization and development department consists of approximately 20 autonomous, cross-functional teams working with modern technologies and agile methods. We are in the midst of an exciting development journey where we are both building new systems and further developing existing ones – with a focus on quality, user benefit, and continuous delivery.
As a tester here, you play a vital role in ensuring that our solutions maintain high quality – technically, functionally, and from a user perspective.

Our teams work closely with users to understand their needs and ensure that what we build works in reality. Quality is a shared responsibility – from development and testing to maintenance and continuous improvement.
We are based in our offices in Malmö, with opportunities for some remote work. We believe in flexibility, but also in the value of collaborating in person – therefore, we typically work together at least three days a week.
Together with your colleagues, you will:
- design, plan, and execute tests for our systems and services
- create and maintain test cases based on requirements, architecture, and user needs
- work with both manual and automated testing
- analyze test results, identify risks, and handle deviations
- collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, test leads, and product owners
- contribute to improving our working methods, test strategies, and quality processes
- engage in dialogue with users, other teams, as well as operations and support organizations
We work according to modern development principles where testing is an integrated part of the entire delivery flow. Test automation is a central part of our continued development, and you will have the opportunity to influence how we approach this moving forward.

Who are you?
You have a strong quality mindset and take responsibility for what you deliver – while keeping an eye on the big picture and the team's common goals. You thrive in an environment where collaboration, dialogue, and continuous learning are an integral part of the work.
As a person, you are analytical, curious, and structured. You have an interest in both technology and user experience, and wish to develop further within testing and quality assurance.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, where good collaboration skills, responsibility, and sound judgment in complex technical environments are central.
You have:
- a university degree in IT or equivalent experience
- basic understanding of system development and development methods
- experience with, or a strong interest in, testing and quality assurance
- good communication skills and express yourself well in Swedish and English
- Swedish citizenship
It is meritorious if you have:
- knowledge of Java
- experience in web development (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, SQL)
- experience with testing in agile teams
- knowledge of test methodologies and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or JIRA
