We are now looking for a System Developer for a long-term assignment with a government agency operating within the justice system, responsible for criminal investigations and prosecution. You will become part of an established team working on the further development and management of a business-critical system where quality, stability, and business understanding are central to the work.

What We Do

At Decerno, we are specialists in tailor-made digital solutions and are proud that our assignments contribute to the public good.

We focus on assignments where we can take overall responsibility and staff with teams of our own employees. Through close and long-term collaborations with our customers, we create sustainable solutions based on each business's unique needs.

We actively invest in AI and modern development tools to develop our working methods and create even greater value for our customers. How the tools are used in practice varies between assignments and customer prerequisites.

What drives us is making a difference. Since our founding in 1984, we have had a strong ethical policy that guides our project choices. Therefore, we actively decline assignments within the weapons industry, gambling, tobacco, and alcohol.

About the Role

As a System Developer, you will work together with an established team to further develop one of Sweden's larger business-critical systems within the justice system. The system has a complex information model and business logic, as well as extensive communication with several other systems and agencies.

You will strengthen an existing project team consisting of UX designers, requirements analysts, system architects, developers, testers, and business representatives. The team works agilely according to Scrum with shared ownership and ongoing discussions regarding system design and architecture.

You will primarily work with:

  • Java development in a larger business-critical system
  • Database development in Oracle
  • Integrations between different systems and agencies
  • Application servers such as WebLogic
  • Further development and maintenance of existing solutions

The role suits you if you are driven and thrive in long-term assignments where quality, stability, and business understanding are just as important as the technology itself.

The location is at our office in Stockholm. We work according to a hybrid model that combines the flexibility of remote work with close collaboration in our offices and with the customer. The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probation period. Security clearance may be included in the recruitment process.

Is This You?

  • Have at least five years of experience in system development and are comfortable working in Java. Experience with C#/.NET is also relevant.
  • Have worked with larger business-critical systems and complex system integrations.
  • Have a good understanding of databases.
  • Communicate well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

To thrive in the role, we believe that as a person you are quality-conscious, meticulous, and thrive in environments where relationships, delivery, and trust are built over time. You also have an interest in understanding the business and translating needs into sustainable technical solutions.

It is an advantage if you have experience with any of the following:

  • JavaEE/JEE, Swing, or Oracle
  • DevOps, CI/CD, and automated delivery flows
  • Acceptance testing and requirements work
  • Public sector or government operations
  • Security-classified or societal-critical systems
  • AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or similar
  • Higher education or university degree in IT, system development, or computer science

Why Decerno?

In our employee surveys, it repeatedly becomes clear that it is the fantastic colleagues, the fun and challenging projects, and the opportunity to contribute to the public good that make our employees thrive with us.

Some additional aspects we would like to highlight:

  • A flexible workplace with greater freedom to plan your day-to-day life to balance work and private life
  • Extra parental benefits because we think family is most important
  • Ongoing competence development through our own Dec Academy
  • Social activities and health initiatives
  • Wellness allowance and a generous insurance package

We value knowledge sharing, experience exchange, and continuous development – both in projects and through internal initiatives.

Does this sound like your next step in your career? We look forward to your application!
