Job Responsibilities

We are looking for postdoctoral researchers who can contribute to several projects related to thermal hydraulics and safety of small modular reactors (SMR).

The work will involve analysis to support the design and development of large-scale experimental facilities to be built and operated at KTH and Oskarshamn. Various facilities will be designed to address key thermal hydraulic phenomena relevant to both water-cooled and lead-cooled SMRs. The work will be part of national projects supported by the Swedish Energy Agency and has strong connections to collaborative projects in Europe.

Qualifications

Requirements

Completed PhD or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
PhD in nuclear engineering, experimental and analytical thermal hydraulics, fluid mechanics.

Meritorious

At most three years since the PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD at the application deadline.
Knowledge of and experience in experimental and analytical investigation of thermal hydraulic phenomena relevant to the safety of water-cooled and lead-cooled nuclear reactors.
Good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in teams and independently.
Motivation and commitment to research work is a very strong merit.
Experience in teaching is meritorious.
Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.
