JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of the security officer involves planning and leading security work together with correctional officers, coordinating dog operations, and mentoring staff on security issues. In this position, you will work practically with security matters in close collaboration with other security functions. You will, among other things, work on the implementation and revision of security plans, instructions, and procedures.

As a security officer, you will participate in training activities regarding needs, planning, and follow-up. You will also be responsible for the introduction and continuing education of employees. The work also involves planning and follow-up of search operations as well as developing strategies, documentation, and statistical reporting. The security officer is involved in the handling, control, and supplementation of security-related equipment. You will also assist the duty officer in daily operations such as transport planning, staff ranking, and mail review.

There is no opportunity for remote work in the role of security officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who works well with others and relates to them in a responsive manner. The position will involve some independent work, so it is important that you take responsibility for your tasks by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively. Furthermore, you should enjoy working with complex issues while being adaptable to changing circumstances.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
  • Complete upper secondary education
  • Knowledge of and experience in case management
  • Experience in security work
  • Good computer skills

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Completed leadership training
  • University or college education in the field of security
  • Worked in a coordinating role
  • Good knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
  • Experience in authority exercise, preferably within the justice chain
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with ISAP, placements, the security handbook, and drug work
