We are now looking for another driven and creative occupational therapist for our newly started Senior Reception within the preventive unit in the municipalities of Bengtsfors and Mellerud.

One occupational therapist is already in place, and together you will be a central part of a cross-professional team with a common goal: to work health-promoting and preventive to strengthen seniors' independence, participation, and quality of life in ordinary housing. About the workplace and organization

Sweden's municipalities are facing a significant demographic change where the proportion of elderly people is increasing sharply in the coming decades while the working-age population is decreasing. This poses major challenges for the future of elderly care. To meet these challenges, social services need to work more health-promoting and preventive to strengthen the health, independence, and participation of the elderly, thereby reducing the need for services within home care and special housing. The preventive unit where the Senior Reception is located should be a hub for the overall preventive work in Mellerud and Bengtsfors – where municipal and voluntary resources collaborate to create a safer, healthier, and more meaningful life for the elderly.

Bengtsfors and Mellerud dare to think innovatively and embark on new paths to solve future needs. The municipalities have a joint governance and management of the social area led by the social manager and divided into five operational areas. Through collaboration, opportunities are created to share both managerial positions and specialist competencies in a way that is beneficial for both municipalities. The workplace is based in Bäckefors near the assistance unit, and as occupational therapists, you will work together across the borders between Bengtsfors and Mellerud. Through close cooperation, we create an even distribution of work, short decision-making paths, and a common focus on high quality and maximum patient benefit.

What can we offer you?

As part of the transition to a new social services law and the challenges of demographic development, we will try a different working method.

The Senior Reception is an initiative based on the intentions of the new social services law to work more preventively and increase individuals' independence. As an occupational therapist in the Senior Reception, your work will focus on co-creation for sustainable and safe aging.

You will be part of a creative and developing team where everyone contributes their expertise to the development of the Senior Reception. The Senior Reception should be an easily accessible entry point for our citizens for support, advice, and early interventions. The team receives applications and together makes an initial assessment of whether interventions can start or need to be further investigated or if ongoing interventions need to be followed up.

As an occupational therapist in the Senior Reception, you will work closely with, among others, case managers with the goal of increasing the user's independence. This can be done through activity assessment and training in daily living activities. By strengthening the user's own ability through training, providing advice on other early interventions, offering health conversations, or through digital technology, the goal is to delay the need for home care or other interventions.

This position is new in the organization, and as an occupational therapist, you will have an important role in building the Senior Reception together with the team. You will be a key person in influencing and developing preventive work in Bengtsfors and Mellerud. To support the development work, there is an employed Medical Responsible for Rehabilitation (MAR).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed Occupational Therapist; experience in the field is an advantage.

You as a person are curious, creative, and enjoy working with people. You may have previous experience working with preventive measures. You contribute logical, reasonable, and creative solutions to challenges. You are good at identifying needs for improvement and preventive measures and you act to implement them. Being able to collaborate with others, both internally and externally, is a prerequisite for succeeding in the assignments. Of course, you have a big heart and the will to contribute to a safe and meaningful existence for our seniors. We place great value on personal suitability and that you should be the next puzzle piece to our team.

A driving license B is a requirement.
