Job Advertisement: Psychologist at SiS Youth Home Margretelund
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Margretelund accommodates non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate in Lidköping and near Falköping.
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Margretelund consists of eight departments, six of which are located in Lidköping and two in Falköping. The target group is young people of high school age with serious psychosocial issues.
As a psychologist, you are an important part of our health and medical care team, which consists of four nurses and three psychologists. The team is led by the quality manager of the youth home.
Young people placed at SiS are taken into care according to the Care of Young Persons Act, and the care is usually provided in secure forms. Placed youth often come from difficult social circumstances, and it is common to see substance abuse, criminality, and serious behavioral problems combined with psychiatric issues.
As a psychologist at SiS, you work individually with assessment conversations such as screenings, suicide risk assessments, or targeted mappings. You primarily work with support conversations and psychoeducation, but some therapeutic conversations may occur.
Investigations are conducted within the framework of SiS's student health assignment or by agreement with the placing social worker. You are part of the treatment team around each youth together with the unit manager, treatment secretary, treatment coordinator, teachers, and nurses, contributing to the work with a psychological perspective.
In the pursuit of ensuring that placed youth have an uninterrupted care chain, the psychologist plays a crucial role in collaborating with other care providers. You are often the first contact regarding the mental health issues that our placed youth experience, and you serve as a support function for treatment staff in matters related to the youth's mental well-being.
The psychologist's role at SiS is also consultative and educational, including work with trauma-informed care (TIC) and suicide prevention. In the local area, there is a newly established youth home, Gudhemsgården, which Margretelund collaborates closely with. As a psychologist, you have proximity to psychologist colleagues at each unit.
Qualifications
Psychologist license or psychology degree (for PTP training).
You are humble and easily collaborate with others. You express yourself well in speech and writing and are accustomed to taking responsibility for, planning, and delineating your work. You can switch between different explanatory models for youth difficulties and are well acquainted with psychiatric assessment methodology and CBT-based treatment.
Experience working with clients in secure environments and/or within psychiatry is advantageous. Personal suitability is highly valued.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement.
