Fleet Coordinator at the Service Unit

The city of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will be an important part of our selection work.

As a fleet coordinator at the service unit, you will work to ensure that the municipality's vehicles are used efficiently, safely, and in accordance with applicable agreements and guidelines.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the ongoing coordination and administration of the municipality's vehicles. You will work with monitoring agreements, costs, and suppliers, as well as in close dialogue with the operations regarding the needs and use of vehicles. An important part of the assignment is to work with the total cost of vehicles over their lifecycle, where you follow up and analyze costs for purchase, leasing, operation, maintenance, and disposal to ensure an economically and sustainably long-term use of the vehicle fleet.

The role includes working in various fleet and vehicle administrative systems and ensuring that applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines are followed. The work requires good structure, economic awareness, and a very good ability to coordinate several parallel tasks in collaboration with different parts of the organization.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a high school education and a B driver's license for both manual and automatic vehicles. You have several years of work experience that the employer considers relevant, for example, in coordination, procurement, or purchasing of vehicles, as well as working with long-term customer relationships and responsibility for larger customers. You are comfortable working independently and in a group with a structured and goal-oriented approach and have the ability to plan, prioritize, and take responsibility for your tasks. You have a strategic perspective and can see the whole and long-term consequences of your work.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in politically governed operations and enjoy a role where community benefit and responsibility are in focus. If you also have experience with procurements, contracts, and supplier contacts in heavy and light vehicles or the transport sector, we see this as a significant asset.

You are curious, aware of your surroundings, and have a genuine interest in the development of the vehicle and transport sector, particularly with a focus on sustainability and efficiency, and you work independently and structured in MS Office programs in your daily work.

We Offer

At the Service Unit in Västerås city, you will have a significant role in an organization characterized by commitment, cooperation, and quality in every meeting. We work to create good conditions for the municipality's operations and offer a work environment where respect, participation, and responsibility are central values. The position is varied and offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of working methods within the framework of an established operation. You will receive support from both colleagues and managers, as well as opportunities for professional development.

Here, you will become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show decisiveness in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve.
