Job Responsibilities

As an accounting economist at the Center for Economics, you will have a central and influential role in Region Västmanland's financial work. You will work closely with controllers and the region's accounting manager and be an important support and knowledge resource in matters concerning accurate accounting, overall reporting, and monthly financial statements. In this role, you will also handle qualified financial issues and contribute to developing work methods and processes. With a pedagogical and coaching approach, you create understanding and security within the organization, and through a consultative and forward-looking working method, you help drive towards the goal of a stable and sustainable economy for the entire region.

About the Workplace

Within the Center for Economics, there is a consolidated financial and controller support for Region Västmanland. Our mission is to provide coordinated and quality-assured support to the region's managers in all operationally related financial processes. As an accounting economist, you ensure correct accounting and create conditions for accurate analyses. Currently, the Center for Economics consists of about 60 people.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent education and experience that we consider comparable. You have solid experience in qualified accounting work and are confident in matters concerning accounting, taxes, and VAT, both at a general level and in detail. You have worked in complex financial systems, preferably Agresso, and feel comfortable in a role where you both analyze and explain financial information. Since the role involves leading meetings and presenting financial data, we see it as an advantage if you have prior experience in this area.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent skills in Excel and be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have experience working with statistics and reporting to SCB and SKR. If you also have experience from a region or municipality, we see it as a clear advantage.

You are pedagogical and coaching and have an easy time making finance understandable and creating engagement within the organization.
