About the Role
Do you want to help develop the future of the visitor industry in Lilla Edet Municipality? Are you passionate about visitor development and have an eye for how to build a strong place brand? We are now looking for someone who wants to take a comprehensive approach to the visitor industry and continue to lift and develop the municipality's vision: the pearl of the Göta River Valley – we do it together.
To make things happen in collaboration, you need to be an engaged and skilled bridge builder who also has your own ideas for actions we can take to create and strengthen a place brand in the short and long term.
As a Visitor Industry Developer, you will have a key role in the municipality's strategic investment in the visitor industry.
You will work both operationally and strategically to develop and market Lilla Edet Municipality as an attractive place. The position has a multi-year development goal according to the municipal executive board's goal and resource plan 2026 and means that you are responsible for:
- Building and strengthening the place brand for Lilla Edet Municipality
- Coordinating and driving development projects within the visitor industry together with local actors and entrepreneurs
- Developing visitor destinations, events, and experiences in the municipality
- Working with sustainability and innovation to strengthen the municipality's attractiveness in the long term
- Following up and evaluating results related to the municipality's vision and goals
The role of Visitor Industry Developer is a new position in the municipality, which means you need to take significant responsibility for building something from the ground up – both in shaping the role and your working methods.
Organizationally, you belong to the communication and development department, which is responsible for the municipality's Citizen Service, public health, communication, business, and visitor industry. You report directly to the head of communication and development and also work closely with the municipal manager.
Qualifications
Personal Characteristics
- You have a genuine interest in the visitor industry, place development, and community issues.
- You are positive, proactive, self-driven, and have an easy time collaborating with others.
- You are communicative and enjoy creating and maintaining relationships.
- You appreciate working both strategically and operationally.
Education and Experience
- Relevant higher education or other post-secondary education or what the employer deems equivalent.
- Experience in leading and working with development projects, preferably in public operations.
- Experience in strategic work within the visitor industry and/or place development is an advantage.
- A valid driver's license (B) is required.
Technical Skills
- Good digital competence and experience working with various digital tools and platforms, such as Adobe Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop), Office 365, social media, and project tools.
- Experience working with web, film, and social media, and good knowledge of how to create and maintain a strong digital presence within the visitor industry.
- Familiarity with relevant systems for municipal operations is a plus.
Language
- You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
