About the trainee program: Our trainee program is aimed at those who have one year left of their studies. The trainee program runs parallel to your final year of study and begins with 2 months of summer internship with us in Huddinge. You will receive an hourly wage and a supervisor, and all trainees will, in addition to working in their respective departments, also carry out a joint project together. In the fall, there may be an opportunity for continued hourly employment, and in the spring, we may be able to collaborate on your thesis?

Trainee in Street Projects: Do you want to help build the infrastructure of the future? As a trainee in the street project section, you will gain a broad and practical insight into how civil engineering projects are planned and executed. The street project section consists of project managers, construction managers, and traffic engineers. We are part of the entire civil engineering process with a focus on implementation issues of public land. About us and our projects: In the planning phase of the projects, we are resources and experts, focusing on monitoring feasibility. We are responsible for producing project documentation such as preliminary design, system documents, and detailed design. When the projects enter the implementation phase, we lead the expansion of public spaces. This includes, for example, streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, squares, parks, lighting, and stormwater solutions.

Your development with us: During your time with us, you will be assigned a supervisor (an experienced project manager) who supports and assists you in your daily work and helps you build your understanding of the section. At the same time, you have the opportunity to get to know other project manager colleagues. You will gradually build your understanding of project management within public land infrastructure. In your role as a trainee in the street project section, you will follow different phases in projects. About 40% of your time will be devoted to the joint project work with other trainees. The remaining time is allocated for tasks within the section. Tasks may include inventory, responding to citizen inquiries related to public land, or tasks together with trainees from other sections and departments. Additionally, there may be opportunities to attend meetings with other project managers in their respective projects to gain a broader understanding of the operations. These may include regular project group meetings, meetings with external parties, or design meetings. There will also be some training during the summer.

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is starting their final year of university education in road and water, civil engineering, or another equivalent education. You are expected to graduate in the spring of 2027. You are interested in urban planning and want to learn more about the civil engineering process in one of Stockholm County's most expansive municipalities. As a trainee with us, it is important that you are proactive and creative with the ability to collaborate smoothly and sensitively with others. Other important qualities in the role are that you communicate clearly and that you are goal-oriented and eager to learn new things, enjoying making suggestions and ideas in the workgroup. It is important that you are proficient in expressing yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as the trainee role involves being in many different contexts with several points of contact.
