Sundsvall Municipality is in an exciting phase. Our municipality is part of the green transition in Northern Sweden, where a large establishment is underway that will lead to many new jobs and thus many new residents. We are fully preparing by, among other things, preparing land, creating new educational places, marketing the municipality, and welcoming new residents from around the world.

Saga is a municipality-wide special education group located centrally in Sundsvall. The operation works with students who have extensive needs for special support in primary school. The operation started in October 2023 and supports students who require a combination of several special support measures for large parts of the school day. Currently, the operation has students from grades 5 to 8.

The goal of the operation is to support students who have extensive needs for special support in an accessible learning environment provided by teachers with specific competencies. Through extra clear structure and high competence in our team, we can make education accessible for our students. The aim of the operation is that each student will eventually return to regular teaching in primary school or develop a good foundation for future high school studies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A seasonal position at Saga means being part of a team and working to develop the operation based on our students' needs. To thrive in the role, you focus on students' development and their success factors from a relational and salutogenic perspective. You are pedagogically goal-oriented and have a flexible approach to work. Creative collaboration in reflection and analysis are fundamental components.

The team develops both the operation and their competence in meeting students in need of special support together.

You and the team plan and implement measures and teaching based on each student's need for special support and design an accessible learning environment together.

You have close collaboration with guardians.

The work requires good pedagogical and social skills to create close relationships with students and guardians. You need to be attentive, curious, and secure.

The work involves collaboration with the students' home schools and close contact with, among others, child and adolescent psychiatry, social services, and the special educational school authority.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed teacher with authorization to teach in primary school up to grade 6. You are well-versed in Lgr22 and the Education Act.

Authorization should include mathematics, English, and science. You possess an interest in and ability to believe in students' developmental opportunities, a salutogenic approach with the goal of the student developing for the future.

You need to have a special educational interest and experience that has given you the competence to work with students in need of special support. You have a well-functioning pedagogical leadership in the classroom and have the competence to individually adapt responses, teaching, and learning environments with, for example, visual support.

You have experience in pedagogical work with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities who have been included in the class.

It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in practical mathematics and science.
- Experience in differentiated teaching.
- Education in NPF.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
