Are you Trafikverket's new senior system developer? Job Responsibilities
ICT Railway (Information and Communication Technology) is undergoing a transformation process within both the technical platform and our agile working methods. We are increasing the pace of innovation at Trafikverket to develop the future IT support for railway traffic management. We work test-driven and with automation to shorten lead times to production. We aim for an application environment based on container technology and Kubernetes.
We are now strengthening our team with senior .NET developers in ICT Railway to elevate the digital capability within traffic control and train management to the next level. You will be part of a development team responsible for our operational and critical railway systems. The team works throughout the chain from requirements, design to development, management, and operations. Together with the team, you will maintain a high delivery capacity and continuously deliver value to users and train passengers.
Our teams consist of several roles and competencies that collaborate in an agile working method. In the teams, we constantly work to develop and improve our working methods. We exchange ideas and innovation proposals and solve the challenges we face together.

QualificationsWho are you?
We see that you collaborate well with others and have good problem-solving skills, are curious, and are driven to develop both yourself and your colleagues. Furthermore, you are quality-conscious, meticulous, and aware of goals and quality standards, placing importance on meeting them. Additionally, you are motivated by active employee participation, where you take responsibility for your tasks in a goal-oriented manner while being aware of how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.
We are looking for someone who
- has a university degree of at least 180 credits (120 ECTS) in computer science or software engineering, or other education combined with experience that Trafikverket assesses as equivalent
- has extensive current and relevant work experience in system development throughout the chain; i.e., has worked with requirements specification, design, programming, testing, and deployment (the position of senior system developer is typically reached after about 8 years)
- has several years of current and relevant work experience in programming in C# and .NET
- has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
It is meritorious if you
- have current and relevant experience working in a technically leading role as a Lead Developer, or other experience that Trafikverket assesses as equivalent
- have current and relevant work experience in mentoring other system developers
- have current, relevant, and practical experience in setting up server environments
- have current and relevant experience working with Azure DevOps, or other experience that Trafikverket assesses as equivalent
- have current, relevant, and practical experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Microservices architecture
- Fullstack development
- Frontend for web applications
- Container technology such as Kubernetes/Docker
- Observability with Elastic/Kibana
- BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)
- Test automation
