We believe that progress and opportunities are best created together.

Welcome to a place where collaboration makes a difference.

Your Role

With us, you will have the opportunity to work where your expertise becomes societal protection, developing system solutions for Sweden's defense. Do you want to improve value flows from idea to delivery in an organization in change? Then we would love to talk to you.

As a systems safety engineer at Saab Dynamics, you will work on the development of advanced defense products, primarily missile systems. You will ensure that our systems meet the specified requirements and expectations regarding system safety and user protection. Systems safety is the discipline that ensures that technical systems do not cause unacceptable harm to people, the environment, or property by identifying, preventing, controlling, and mitigating hazards throughout the entire lifecycle - from idea and design to operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.

In this role, you will work through the entire development process: identifying product safety risks, deriving and managing safety requirements, analyzing design and architecture, and planning, executing, and following up verification with documented compliance to requirements.

As part of a structured transformation towards agile working methods, we prioritize highest value first, ensure a functioning core early, and continuously calibrate the target vision. You will become a key person in realizing this way of working.

We are looking for someone who combines a holistic perspective with technical depth - you methodically understand our systems and explain how they should function for the right audience. The role spans several technical areas with broad contact surfaces throughout the organization.

You will be a key team player who, together with the team, creates world-class products.

Your Profile

We are looking for you with:

  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Several years of experience (3+ years) in systems work with system safety
  • Experience working according to an established standard in the field, e.g., MIL-STD 882E or equivalent

Meritorious:

  • Ability to communicate the system's function and architecture to various stakeholders
  • Domain knowledge in safety-critical or defense-related systems
  • Experience in system architecture including requirements management
  • Experience in verification/validation and traceability from requirements to testing
  • Experience in lean/agile working methods in cross-functional teams
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
