Infrastructure Officer
As an Infrastructure Officer, you will be part of the Rikshemvärnstaben (RHS) which leads and directs the work within the Home Guard combat force. In this role, you will primarily handle administration related to infrastructure. You will plan, execute, and follow up on infrastructure activities, which include procurement, maintenance, and decommissioning of land, facilities, and premises. About the Unit
The Home Guard combat force is part of the Swedish Armed Forces and constitutes almost half of the armed forces' personnel, operating throughout Sweden. The combat force is experiencing strong growth, with approximately 800 permanent employees and around 24,000 volunteers in the Home Guard units.
The Rikshemvärnstaben is the staff of the Chief of the Home Guard to lead and direct the unit production and develop the combat force. The Rikshemvärnstaben consists of planning, execution, support, and staff sections. The support section consists of three sections: HR, security and command systems, and logistics. The logistics section includes infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Officer, you will participate in the preparation and development of the units' infrastructure needs. Your work will also involve compiling the organization's overall needs, as well as financial planning and follow-up. You will continuously follow up on current matters through dialogue with four military regions and the Home Guard's combat school. Collaboration with the Fortifications Agency (FORTV) and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), which are two supporting authorities to the Armed Forces, will occur.
Examples of tasks include:
- Support the Rikshemvärnstaben with specialist expertise in the infrastructure function
- Plan and participate in the development, procurement, maintenance, and decommissioning of infrastructure needs
- Prepare matters for decision at various stages within all infrastructure processes
- Develop documentation, present, and implement results in the organization
- Handle infrastructure matters in the Armed Forces' document management system (VIDAR)
As a member of the Rikshemvärnstaben, you will also participate in follow-ups and unit visits at the units. Travel and weekend work may occur as a natural part of the job, albeit to a limited extent and with good notice.
Qualifications
- Current and relevant experience in infrastructure work within public administration
- Current experience of being involved in staff work
- Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel
- Driving license B
Meritorious
- Relevant work experience from the Armed Forces, Fortifications Agency (FORTV) or the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV)
- Experience working in contract management or property management systems, e.g., SAP
- Knowledge and experience of the Armed Forces' organization and production processes
- Experience in relevant work within a large complex organization
- Familiarity with property law
