The Role of Chief Physician

As a chief physician in the mammography department at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping, you will be responsible for independently investigating clinical patients using ultrasound, biopsy, stereotaxy, and vacuum excisions. Reviewing screenings is also part of your work. We also use MRI for investigations when necessary. Soon, we will start with contrast mammography and AI.

You will have significant contact with patients and collaborate with other staff in the breast process. You will lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences and mentor residents.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. Working hours are during weekdays in the daytime.

Your Future Workplace

The radiology department is a county-wide 24/7 clinic with approximately 360 employees located at the county's three hospitals: Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping, Högland Hospital in Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital. The radiology department conducts modern high-tech diagnostics and offers a wide and advanced range of examinations. We perform, among other things, angio-interventions, skeletal and lung radiography, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound, and PET-CT.

The mammography area belongs to the county radiology clinic in Region Jönköping County. Within mammography, we perform approximately 10,000 clinical examinations and 36,000 health checks annually. The clinical operations are located in Jönköping. Health checks are conducted in Jönköping, in the mammography van in Höglandet, and at the radiology department in Värnamo. We are about 30 employees, and the team that welcomes you consists of breast radiologists, radiology nurses, and medical administrators. We use Sectra RIS and PACS.

The radiology department is a development-intensive operation, and therefore we hope you enjoy working in such an environment. Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a trained radiologist and preferably has completed or is in the process of completing a specialist training in mammography. We prefer that you have at least two years of experience in mammography as you need to be able to perform all the tasks included in the mammography mission. It is also important to us that you thrive in an environment focused on development.

As a person, you are responsible and organize your work well. In your interactions with patients, you are calm and accommodating and always prioritize the patient's best interests. You have a good ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and consider the best interests of the organization in your actions and decisions.

Since you work closely with your colleagues, it is important for us that you have good collaborative skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
