The Role of Psychologist in Insurance Medicine

In this role, you will conduct Activity Ability Assessments (AFU) according to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's methods, regulations, and manuals. You will work in an interprofessional team and contribute the psychological perspective to the assessment, with the insured individual in focus. The assessment is based on neuropsychological testing and semi-structured interviews, where you evaluate activity and functional levels based on given frameworks.

A central part of the work is to compile results and formulate a statement that is formal, clear, and easy to understand. You will maintain that the assessment role differs from the treatment role; no medical assessments or treatments are conducted. Collaboration is a natural part of everyday life, with joint team meetings and ongoing communication within the team to address questions in a quality-assured manner.

For this position, training in Activity Ability Assessment through the Swedish Social Insurance Agency is required. If you have not completed this training, we offer it in connection with employment.

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting August 17 or by agreement.

The Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic is a regional clinic that has been accredited by CARF since 2006. In Jönköping, rehabilitation is provided for both inpatients requiring round-the-clock care and for patients attending during the day. In Nässjö and Värnamo, day rehabilitation is available, and in Nässjö, there is also insurance medicine operations. The team in insurance medicine consists of psychologists, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and medical administrators.

Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with an interest in assessment work and evaluation of activity ability, preferably with experience in making psychological statements. If you have completed training in or have experience with work ability assessments, that is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language and express yourself well in both speech and writing.

You have a good ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You can work according to predetermined methods and timelines while understanding the importance of being flexible in meetings with the insured. You have a professional approach, are quality-conscious, and see a good attitude towards colleagues as well as the insured as a given. We place great importance on personal suitability.
