Social Workers Needed at Lotsen for Children and Youth in Mariestad

At Lotsen for Children and Youth in Mariestad, we have an investigation group consisting of reception, investigators, and open care, as well as a placement group that handles cases according to SoL and LVU. Connected to these groups are two senior social workers and two social administrators. Together, we drive work that makes a difference for the children, youth, and families we encounter. We actively strive for an equal, equitable, and inclusive working method, and since 2023, the organization has been HBTQI+ certified through Samkrafter.

We now need to hire several social workers for our investigation and placement groups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Investigation Group:

If you are interested in a position in the investigation group, which takes over after the reception has made a preliminary assessment, the work continues with:

• Investigating children's needs and parents' abilities.
• Following up on assistance decisions.
• Collaborating with schools, police, BUP, and other actors around the child.
• Customizing solutions for families.

Placement Group:

In our placement group, which takes over after an investigation has been conducted, you will represent the child's interests and needs, ensure that the child has meaningful interactions with their parents, and that the child is involved in their own care. You work towards reunification, parental involvement in care, and ensuring they receive the right support. This includes:

• Monitoring the care of placed children and youth based on their individual needs and rights.
• Considering and reassessing care, creating visitation plans, and conducting visitation assessments.
• Close collaboration with foster care social workers and cooperation with schools, police, BUP, and other actors around the child.

For all positions, there are clear structures, frequent work meetings, leadership from senior social workers, and administrative support. We have modern facilities and we aim for a balanced and manageable caseload among caseworkers. We also actively work for close collaboration with nearby organizations and invest heavily in professional development. If you enjoy shorter contacts, meeting deadlines, and can quickly adapt in your work, the investigation group may be the right workplace for you. QUALIFICATIONS

For these positions, we are looking for you who are a trained social worker and have a B driver's license. Previous work experience in social services and public authority handling of children and youth is an advantage.

We see that you are flexible and creative to adapt to meetings, situations, and unpredictable days. Since the work involves interaction with many actors, we also see that you have good collaboration skills and communication skills both verbally and in writing. To ensure a legally secure handling, it is also important that you are responsible with a good ability to structure your work.
