Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in Nynäshamn municipality, you will play a role in an organization that fulfills an important societal function. You will work in teams where all employees share a common responsibility for achieving the goals outlined in our work plans and governing documents. Through collegial learning, professional development, and municipal subject conferences, we develop our teaching.

In your role as a Swedish teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the teaching. You will document and assess students' knowledge development and, based on a formative approach, engage in dialogue with the student to advance their learning.

Mentorship is part of the assignment. The mentorship is shared with a colleague. As a teacher at Vanstaskolan, you will be part of a team where opportunities for collegial learning and co-planning are provided.

About the Workplace

The primary task of the Department of Children and Education is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where we prepare children and young people for the future. We also work to promote access to cultural and recreational activities for all residents.

Vanstaskolan is a primary school in the Ösmo principal area with approximately 750 students and 100 employees. The school is engaged in school development and has clear visions for the future. We work in an open climate and with a good collegial spirit. At our school, we focus on ensuring that all students feel safe and that learning and development are prioritized. We have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and harassment. The school has a well-functioning student health team that includes all professions and works closely with students and staff. We continuously develop our work, currently focusing on norms and values, learning environments, and differentiated instruction.

We aim to equip our children and young people for the future and provide them with the tools they need. What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

• a teaching license and qualification in the subject of Swedish
• good knowledge of the school's governing documents and curriculum
• strong skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• knowledge and ability to use digital tools.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience teaching in primary school grades 7-9
• experience working as a mentor
• experience working with students with learning difficulties
• experience working with gifted students.
