About the job

In the adapted primary school, students with intellectual disabilities attend who are assessed as not being able to meet the primary school's knowledge requirements. The adapted primary school aims to provide students with intellectual disabilities an education that imparts knowledge and values and develops their ability to acquire these. The education contributes to personal development, prepares students for active life choices, and lays the foundation for further education.

As a teaching assistant at Myräng School's adapted primary school, you play a central role in supporting students with special needs, both practically and emotionally, to promote their development and learning. You work closely with students, teachers, and other school staff to create an inclusive and safe school environment where every student has the opportunity to develop according to their conditions.

Who are you?

We want you who are applying for the position to:

• have a childcare education or experience working in an adapted primary school.
• be passionate about making a difference in every student's school day. As a teaching assistant, you work closely with students with special needs and are an important part of creating a safe, stimulating, and positive learning environment.
• use a conscious and empathetic approach based on positive behavior support (PBS), adapt teaching materials, and help prevent barriers to students' learning.
• support students in their social and communicative development, be involved in their teaching and motor training, and be a reliable support in both classroom and everyday activities. Your role also involves close contact with guardians and a willingness to continuously develop both yourself and the school's activities.
• be engaged during breaks, transitions, and free moments – and contribute to a meaningful and inclusive school environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
